Join the Council on Anthropology and Education Leadership Team!

We are excited to invite you to nominate yourself or others to join the CAE Board of Directors.  We encourage nominations of individuals who reflect the diversity of our membership. We also encourage nominations of individuals whose work is interdisciplinary as well as of individuals who are practitioners who work outside of academia. 

Nominees for leadership positions should:

  • Be a member in good standing of AAA and CAE.
  • Promote, uphold, and demonstrate a commitment to the priorities of the CAE Mission Statement.
  • Be willing to commit to a 3-year term.
  • Be able to attend monthly (virtual) meetings.

Elected Positions – beginning Nov. 2026:

  • President – This elected position involves a 3-year commitment to CAE beginning in the role of VP and Program Chair responsible for coordinating the annual conference meeting program in 2027. The 2nd-year role is President of CAE starting in Nov. 2027. The 3rd-year role is Past President of CAE for a year starting in Nov. 2028. The 3-year commitment will end Nov. 2029 at the annual meeting. This position is one of 7 voting members of the CAE Executive Committee empowered to carry out the work of the CAE. This position is mentored by the Past President and President who are also members of the CAE Executive Committee.   • Member-at-Large (MAL) – This elected position involves a 3-year commitment to CAE beginning in the role of 1st Year MAL at the Nov. 2026 annual meeting and will advance to the office of 2nd Year and 3rd Year MAL, serving one year in each subsequent position. Each of the three years has various leadership roles within the CAE Officers of the Council, including supporting award committees, organizing events and mentoring opportunities, etc. The Officers of the Council advise the CAE Executive Committee on important issues affecting our membership. Examples of leadership roles are: chair committees set forward in the bylaws, recruit leaders, mentors, and members, and support CAE awards. Process:
The CAE Nominations Committee will review all nominations and follow up with nominees as needed before the annual CAE meeting in November. The goal for elected positions is to have a minimum of 2 candidates for each position slated for voting by CAE members in April/May 2026.
